* What is DENIER?
DENIER is the unit of measurement for the thickness of the yarn used to make stockings and tights.
The lower the DENIER count (8, 10, 15, 20, etc.), the thinner and more transparent the stocking or tights. Conversely, the higher the number (40, 70, etc.), the thicker it is and the less visible the skin.
On the other hand, there are opaque microfiber tights and pantyhose, in 50 and 100 deniers, in which the skin is barely visible. Their use is common in autumn-winter.
Tights and pantyhose with a low DEN rating are normally used for the spring-summer season. The rest can be used throughout the year, for example for ceremonies, since the fineness of the stockings makes them more elegant.
High numbers, 40, 70..., are generally used for autumn-winter.
